Writer/Producer Derek Haas (Chicago Fire, Wanted, 2 Fast 2 Furious) joins us on The Matthew Aaron Show Wednesday (10/10) evening starting at 6pm PT.

DEREK HAAS created “Chicago Fire” with his writing partner, Michael Brandt. They developed and serve as executive producers both on “Chicago Fire” and spinoff “Chicago P.D.”

Together, they have written such features as “3:10 to Yuma,” “Wanted,” “2 Fast 2 Furious” and “The Double,” which Haas also produced. Their films have grossed more than a $500 million worldwide at the box office.

Haas attended Baylor University for both his undergraduate and graduate work, and earned an M.A. in English literature. It was on the Baylor campus where he first met Brandt, and they started writing screenplays together in the mid-’90s.

Haas is the author of the best-selling Silver Bear series of books: “The Silver Bear,” “Columbus” and “Dark Men,” which collectively earned raves from the New York Times Book Review. His fourth novel, “The Right Hand,” launched a new character and earned a prestigious starred review from Publisher’s Weekly. The novel was scooped up by Universal Studios and Scott Stuber to be adapted into a feature film.

Active on the Internet, Haas created popcornfiction.com, which promotes and publishes genre short fiction.

He lives in Los Angeles.
